My Approach
My approach to therapy aims to primarily focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where the client feels heard and understood . I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and I guide my client to be the best version of themselves by helping them increase their level of self-awareness, gain new perspectives and increase potential strengths to live a more meaningful life.
Growing up in India and living in the USA for 8 years has exposed me to several identities and personality types, which has enabled me to work with clients from a multicultural background.
I treasure each human being and truly believe that each person has the potential to succeed in life, and it is my goal to help them through it. Having the experience of working with a diverse population, I work from an eclectic approach keeping in mind that each client has their own unique needs and requirements. I work from a person-centered , cognitive behavioral theoretical orientation that best fits the clients needs and concerns. I also incorporate aspects of mindfulness in my work with my clients. I strongly feel that self-care is an important element in managing daily life stressors.
It can be difficult to open up to someone about your life, but the first step in this journey is to ask for help.
I am a compassionate, warm and culturally sensitive therapist and believe that each one of us has a unique role to play and that we all should take things at our own pace.
Let's work together through this journey of life.
Confidentiality & Ethics
I adhere to a strict code of confidentiality as stipulated by the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics. This means that any information shared will be between the client and the therapist. However, as per the mandate, if a client is suicidal or is in danger to themselves or others, or if there is anything which involves child harm and serious crimes, confidentiality maybe be broken.
